More about Daphne Greenwood

Daphne T. Greenwood is Professor Emerita of Economics, University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. Her work on wealth inequality, labor issues and sustainable development has been published in the Journal of Economic Issues, Review of Income and Wealth, Journal of Population Economics, and numerous scholarly books. She co-authored A Brighter Future: Improving the Standard of Living Now and for the Next Generation (2014) and Local Economic Development in the 21st Century: Quality of Life and Sustainability (2010) with Richard P. F. Holt.

Daphne saw first hand the importance of state (as well as federal) labor laws after being elected to Colorado’s House of Representatives. Once she was back full-time at the university, she spearheaded the new Colorado Center for Policy Studies. For over fifteen years years, she led its analysis of state and local policies—on local quality of life and sustainability, water adequacy, tax structures, unemployment insurance, and transportation alternatives.  She understands how local infrastructure, education, health care, and quality of life affect worker opportunities and well-being. In Work, Pay, and Sustainability she incorporates the broader world into work and pay issues in a unique way.
